Ahhhhh, now this is more like the house hunting I’m used to.
I mentioned last week that we found one that might be “the one.” We decided Tuesday night that we did want to put an offer in, so I emailed our Realtor Wednesday morning to set up a meeting. She called the seller’s agent to see if we could meet at the house that night for a final walkthrough and to write up the offer papers.
We were so excited. This was it. We missed the crazy market that we’ve heard Des Moines can be in the spring.
Then our Realtor called back. The seller’s had received another offer and they were going through negotiation.
Our Realtor suggested writing a back up offer, just in case. Then we got another call – the sellers had already accepted the offer.
So, we’re back at square one. We had found another one we were interested in, only to find out it sold this week. Another came on the market this morning, and our Realtor already said it has received many calls. She was able to schedule us to see it tomorrow morning at 8:30 – chances are if we don’t see it then it won’t be available by tomorrow night.
Maybe this is the one, maybe not. I’m really trying to not get excited each time, especially in this market. I never expected it to be so crazy – the good homes here go in less than 48 hours.
This is going to be one hell of a rollercoaster – let’s hope we can hang on!
We are thinking that we might looking, too. We've been talking about it for a while. We currently live in a town home, which we like, but which we've quickly outgrown. Plus, we figured that this would not be our forever home. However, I do tend to get attached to things rather quickly and I'm nervous about what that could mean in terms of disappointment. We're not quite ready to start looking, so in the meantime I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys!
I hear you! It's so hard to not get attached. Though after our debacle last time, I've learned to not jump the gun in terms of excitement!
Good luck, whenever you start looking!
