Some days (especially Mondays, it seems) I wish I could trade lives with Frankie. See what I mean?
This dog is the ultimate couch potato. I joke with B all the time that I want to trade lives with him. Until B points out that since I am totally used to my crazy-busy lifestyle, I’d go nuts with nothing to do all day. Fine. So I modify my wish: I want to trade lives with Frankie AND be dumb enough to not realize what I’m missing out on. There. Perfect.
This stinky little creature seriously spends about 98 percent of his day asleep. The other two percent is spent begging for treats, pooping, or staring out the window…
Seriously, wouldn’t you kill for Frankie’s schedule?
7:15 a.m. – Wake up, eat breakfast
7:40 a.m. – Go for a walk, pee on some trees, run back and forth while looking for the ultimate place to poop
7:55 a.m. – Go back to bed after Mommy leaves for work, sleep until B wakes up
9:30 a.m. – After B leaves for work, sniff around the house for any crumbs that may have fallen from last night’s dinner
9:30 a.m. – 6:20 p.m. – Nap ALL DAY LONG until Mommy or B comes home. Maybe a little play time here and there, or a quick bark out the window at someone passing by, but mostly just napping
6:30 p.m. – Mommy’s home! Which also means time for dinner and a walk
7 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. – More napping. Maybe a few games of fetch, begging for human food, and begging even more for pets, but mostly just more napping
10:30 p.m. – Final walk of the night
10:45 – God only knows when – More napping and snuggling on the couch until Mom decides it’s time for bed. Then, time to curl up in bed and get ready to start it all again tomorrow!
I just wish I could get as much sleep in a week as Frankie gets in a single day. Oh well, I guess that’s the price we pay for being human. Plus, who can get mad at this face?
So readers, who do YOU want to trade schedules with???
That is nothing compared to our cat 'George' Frankie I think would like his schedule even better.
More than 21 hours of most days spent asleep! Or at least curled up ignoring the rest of the world.
True! I'm sure most cats can top Frankie's schedule. And I'd be willing to trade any of 'em!
I was going to say the same thing – I would love to trade places with my cat Winston. He sleeps most of the day, specific nap areas depending on the time of day. Morning naps are on the ottoman by the sliding door, afternoon naps in his basket in the bedroom, evening naps in the blanket basket next to the couch, and then "bedtime" attached to my hip all night. He's usually up and about when we're busy doing things. His biggest concerns are who's going to feed him when, if his litter box is clean, and which toy to drag from his toy box and leave in the bedroom. His other activities include attacking his scratching post, seeing what's in the downstairs closest today (as opposed to yesterday), and trying to jump from the wall (we have a half wall in the hallway) into the hall closet so that he can burrow in the CLEAN towels. Yeah, his life is so hard. 😉
My dog has almost the same schedule!! Wakes up 07:00 to relieve himself in the yard. Eat breakfast and nap while Mom works for 3 hrs. 11:00 walk. 12:00 snack. 12:02-17:00 nap and dose and wake up to change positions. 17:00 walk. 17:15 – dinner. 17:30-21:30 be sad while Mom is at work and not get relaxing sleep (I sometimes wonder if that is why he barks when alone because he wishes he could go back to sleep). 22:00 – in bed for the night – exhausted after a busy day of…sleeping.
On the other hand – he would have NOTHING to write in his Filofax! sleep sleep and more sleep! 🙂
@Kanalt- I'll trade with Winston too! Frankie doesn't have a routine with locations for napping, but he will follow the sunbeams on the floor all day long! Sometimes I think he is part cat, lol 🙂
@SSA- Wow, our dogs could be twins! And isn't it funny how they can seem so tired even though all they've done all day is sleep?
Hahaha yea… and yawn obviously with rolling eyes when you do things that disturb that sleep!
